No Transfer but BIG Changes

Elder Oblock is being transferred today to Bay City, where he'll be a senior companion. I will get Elder Hernandez from the neighboring area. They closed his area and gave it to the sisters. They have moved the zone leader area to my area and I've been asked to be a Zone Leader. This is the first time they've moved a zone leader spot like this, at least as far back as President knows.

So I'll be trained in the ways of the Zone Leader by Elder Hernandez. I'll be his 16th or 17th companion. He trained during my transfer and his second companion was Elder Hurst. I am excited about serving with him.

I'm over the Southern Zone. They have two zone leaders per zone, by the way. Elder Udall (my MTC companion) and Elder Peterson (from Cadillac) will be two of the district leaders down here. Elder Isom (my 3rd companion from Greenville--the one I also roomed with in the MTC) will be staying in the Southern Zone as well.

It's neat and it's a little stressful at the same time. I'm excited about serving with Elder Hernandez, who is also a convert like Elder Oblock. The area is really growing on me. I have high hopes, but the reality of the difficulty of the work ahead is there. It takes hard work to bring people into the gospel.
